Straight talk to Youth
Lots of recent criminal activity among young people have been promoted or influenced by older adults. The increase of criminal activity is an indication that the church, the family, the media and the community needs to increase the intensity or the rate of moral teaching. A moral crises and a lack of leadership is on the horizon.
It appears that there is a political correctness movement within churches and the community, there is no unified effort to speak out against crime and immorality. Churches appear to be more concerned about building large facilities than building Christian character.
Crime is impacting persons from all races and social economic backgrounds. White collar crime in many ways is worst than Blue collar crime. Those who raise their salaries to monumental levels and steal millions from innocent investors inflict the most harm on society because they impact a larger number people.
Crime leads to pain and heart break for both the victim and the perpetrator. Families on both sides of criminal activity are affected in ways that will never be fully understood by casual observers.
The following advice is shared with young people who are being drawn into a life of crime and immorality.

The following advice is shared with young people who are being drawn into a life of crime and immorality.
- Stay away from people who are into drugs and criminal activity.
- Avoid people who can cause you to lose your freedom and dignity.
- Don't associate with older people who make sexually provocative comments or statements, guard against being alone with strangers, be on guard against the sexual advances of so called friends, teachers and relatives, don't yield to inappropriate groping or touching.
- Avoid the trap of allowing a person to come to your house or neighborhood for the purpose of driving you around and buying you beer and cigarettes, don't allow anyone to rob you of your future and drain you of your energy and self esteem.
- Be aware that there are no free rides in life, for there is a price to be paid for everything that has value.
- If you value freedom, do not allow yourself to be controlled by others; always think about the consequences of your personal behavior and actions.
- Think about those who will be affected when a crime or wrong action is committed.
- Seek advice from parents and guidance counselors when faced with major challenges or problems.
- Value your body and your emotions more than you value a handsome face or sweet words.
- Delay gratification for a greater gain, relax and enjoy the days of your youth.
- Give yourself a chance to grow up, obey and listen to responsible adult authority.
- Get involved in a bible believing church; pray and ask others to pray for you.
- Get an education or a trade, learn how to manage money, avoid the over use of credit cards, save your money and pay cash as often as possible.
- Respect others and honor the value of hard work and sacrifice.
